These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient 39 and also a large throng from those of later times. 40 BUT AS FOR those who have persevered in evil - what of those who have persevered in evil? 41 (They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water, 42 And a shade of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor pleasant. 44 For, behold, in times gone by they were wont to abandon themselves wholly to the pursuit of pleasures, 45 And they persisted in the great violation. 46 and they used to say, "What! After we have died and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up again? 47 And our forefathers [as well]?" 48 Say: "Verily, those of olden times and those of later times 49 will indeed be gathered together at an appointed time on a Day known [only to God]: 50 "Then will ye truly,- O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood!- 51 Ye verily will eat of a tree called Zaqqum 52 filling your bellies with it; 53 and drink on top of that boiling water 54 "Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!" 55 Such will be their welcome on the Day of Judgement. 56 WE who have created you, [O men:] why, then, do you not accept the truth? 57 Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. 58 Is it you that create it or are We the creators? 59 We have [indeed] decreed that death shall be [ever-present] among you: but there is nothing to prevent Us 60 from changing the nature of your existence and bringing you into being [anew] in a manner [as yet] unknown to you. 61 And assuredly ye have fully known the first production wherefore heed ye not? 62 Have you seen what you sow? 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 Had We wanted, We could have crushed it to bits and you would have been left to lament, 65 'We are debt-loaded; 66 nay; we have been undone!” 67 Have you thought about the water you drink? 68 Send it down ye from the raincloud, or are We the Sender down? 69 If We willed, surely We would make it brackish. Wherefore give ye not thanks? 70 Have you ever considered the fire which you kindle? 71 Did you produce the tree that serves as fuel or do We? 72 We made it a reminder and a provision for the needy. 73 Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74
