Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord: 2 and that “He – exalted be His Majesty – has not taken to Himself either a wife or a son”; 3 The fool among us spoke against God outrage, 4 We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God, 5 "Certain human beings sought refuge with certain jinn and this increased the rebelliousness of those jinn. 6 and they thought, even as you also thought, that God would never raise up anyone. 7 "'And [so it happened] that we reached out towards heaven: but we found it filled with mighty guards and flames, 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 Some of us are righteous, while others are not; we follow divergent paths. 11 We know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed therein, and whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression. 13 Some of us have come to submission, and some of us are iniquitous.'" Those who have submitted have taken the right course; 14 but as for those who abandon themselves to wrongdoing - they are indeed but fuel for [the fires of] hell!'" 15 If people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would have vouchsafed them abundant rain 16 That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. 17 "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; 18 And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass." 19
