Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
