The unbelievers say: 'When we and our fathers are turned to dust, shall we be brought forth? 67 We were promised this, forsooth, we and our fathers. (All) this is naught but fables of the men of old. 68 Say thou: travel in the land and behold what like hath been the end of the culprits. 69 Do not sorrow for them, nor be thou straitened for what they devise. 70 And they say: When (will) this promise (be fulfilled), if ye are truthful? 71 Say: "Perhaps that which you wish to hasten on, may be close behind you. 72 Lo! thy Lord is full of bounty for mankind, but most of them do not give thanks. 73 And verily thine Lord knoweth whatsoever their breasts conceal and whatsoever they make known. 74 Nor is there aught of the unseen, in heaven or earth, but is (recorded) in a clear record. 75 BEHOLD, this Qur'an explains to the children of Israel most [of that] whereon they hold divergent views; 76 It is a guidance and a mercy to believers. 77 Your Lord will judge among them according to His own decree. He is Majestic and All-Knowing. 78 So rely upon Allah; indeed, you are upon the clear truth. 79 You cannot make the dead to listen, or the deaf to hear the call, when they have turned their backs, 80 Nor canst thou be a guide to the blind, (to prevent them) from straying: only those wilt thou get to listen who believe in Our Signs, and they will bow in Islam. 81 ۞ And when the time for the fulfilment of Our Word against them will come, We shall bring forth for them a beast from the earth who will speak to them because people did not believe in Our Signs. 82
