The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 has created man, 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
