No, by the moon! 32 And the night when it departs, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning for people -- 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 about the sinners. 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
