The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
