Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a high Garden 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 raised couches, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
