Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

By the morning hours 1 and the brooding night! 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before. 4 And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee)? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 Did He not find you in want, and make you free from want? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness, 9 and do not reject the beggars 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
