The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 pay their religious tax 4 And who guard their modesty - 5 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 Such are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 And We sent down from the heaven water in measure, and We caused it to settle in the earth; and verily to take it away We are Able. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 The tree that grows on Mount Sinai yields oil and seasoning for those who eat. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
