The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 Their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear God? 124 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 125 fear God, then, and obey me. 126 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds. 127 "Will you, in your wanton folly, build [idolatrous] altars on every height, 128 and erect castles hoping that you will live forever. 129 And when you lay hands (on men) you lay hands (like) tyrants; 130 Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 131 Fear Him who has given you all the things you know. 132 Provided you with grazing livestock and children 133 gardens and fountains. 134 “Indeed I fear upon you the punishment of a Great Day.” 135 They said: It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not one of the admonishers 136 This is but a fable of the men of old, 137 and we shall never be punished' 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 Verily your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 140
