Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are verses of the wise Book. 2 As guidance and mercy for the doers of good 3 for those who attend to their prayers and pay the zakat and who have firm faith in the Hereafter: 4 These are on a guidance from their Lord, and these are they who are successful: 5 Some men there are who buy diverting talk to lead astray from the way of God without knowledge, and to take it in mockery; those -- there awaits them a humbling chastisement. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in his stiff-neckedness as though he heard them not: as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce thou unto him a torment afflictive. 7 Verily, those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them are Gardens of delight (Paradise). 8 where they shall live for ever. The promise of Allah is the truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He has created the heavens without pillar as you can see, fixed the mountains on earth so that it may not shake you away, and settled therein all types of living creatures. We have sent down water from the sky and made all kinds of plants grow in gracious pairs. 10 this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. 11
