The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
