Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by, 2 Does he think his wealth will abide for ever with him? 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 What shall let you know what the Crusher is? 5 Fire of Allah, Kindled, 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 (And) vaults them over 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
