۞ God commands justice, kindness and giving their [due to] near relatives, and He forbids all shameful deeds, and injustice and transgression. He admonishes you so that you may take heed! 90 (He commands people) to keep their established covenants with God, not to disregard their firm oaths; they have already appointed God as their Guarantor. God certainly knows what you do. 91 Do not, like the woman who unravels her yarn after its strands have been firmly spun, use your oaths as a means of deceiving one another, just because one community could become bigger than another. God is only testing you by means of this. On the Day of Resurrection He will make it clear to you what you differed about. 92 Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation. But He leads astray whomsoever He will and gives guidance to whomsoever He will. You shall be questioned about what you did. 93 Do not use your oaths to deceive each other lest any foot should slip after being firmly placed and lest you should taste the penalty for having hindered others from the path of God, for then you will have a terrible punishment. 94 Do not sell the covenant of Allah for a trifling price. What is with Allah is better for you if you but knew. 95 all that is with you is bound to come to an end, whereas that which is with God is everlasting. And most certainly shall We grant unto those who are patient in adversity their reward in accordance with the best that they ever did. 96 We shall invest whosoever works for good, whether man or woman, with a pleasant life, and reward them in accordance with the best of what they have done. 97 And when you recite the Qur’an, seek the refuge of Allah from Satan the outcast. 98 Verily he hath no authority over those who believe and in their Lord trust 99 He has power only over those who take him as their patron and who, under his influence, associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 100
