'Aad denied the messengers 123 when their brother Hud said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 124 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 125 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 126 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 127 "Do you build useless monuments on every mountain 128 And take ye for yourselves castles that haply ye may abide. 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 So be fearful of God and follow me. 131 Fear Him who has given you all the things you know. 132 He hath aided you with cattle and sons. 133 gardens, and springs. 134 'Indeed, I fear for you the chastisement of a dreadful day.' 135 They replied, "It makes no difference to us whether you preach or do not preach, 136 "This is no other than a customary device of the ancients, 137 And we are not going to be punished. 138 And they belied him; so We destroyed them. Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 140
