Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
