The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
