Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17

True are the words of God the Almighty.
