The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the star when it plunges, 1 Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred, 2 nor does he speak out of his desire. 3 This is nothing but a revelation that is conveyed to him, 4 He was taught by [an angel] who is mighty in power, 5 one endowed with immense wisdom. He came forth and stood poised, 6 being on the higher horizon, 7 then he drew near, and became close 8 So the distance between the Spectacle and the beloved was only two arms’ length, or even less. (The Heavenly Journey of Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him – was with body and soul.) 9 so (Allah) revealed to His worshiper (Gabriel) that which he revealed (to Prophet Muhammad). 10 The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad SAW) saw. 11 What! do you then dispute with him as to what he saw? 12 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) during his other ascent 13 by the lote-tree at the farthest boundary, 14 by the Garden of [Eternal] Repose, 15 When that covered the lote-tree which covered it. 16 The sight did not shift, nor did it cross the limits. 17 Indeed he saw some of the greatest signs of His Lord. 18 Have you ever thought about al-Lat and al-Uzza, 19 And Manat, the other third (of the pagan deities)? 20 Is the male for you and for Him the female? 21 Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair! 22 these are nothing but names which you yourselves have devised, you and your forefathers. God has sent down no authority for them. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own selves desire, even though guidance has already come to them from their Lord! 23 Shall man have whatsoever he wisheth for! 24 Allah's is the last and the first. 25
