The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
