The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and flowing water, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 and raised couches 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 for those on the Right, 38
