The chiefs of Firon's people said: most surely this is an enchanter possessed of knowledge: 109 He would drive you forth from your land; so what is it that ye enjoin? 110 They said, "Let him and his brother wait awhile, and send into the cities summoners, 111 to summon every wellversed sorcerer to you' 112 And the magicians came to Pharaoh and said: 'Shall we have a reward if we win?' 113 He said: "Yea, (and more),- for ye shall in that case be (raised to posts) nearest (to my person)." 114 They said, 'Moses, wilt thou cast, or shall we be the casters?' 115 He said, "Throw," and when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck terror into them, and they presented a great [feat of] magic. 116 And We inspired to Moses, "Throw your staff," and at once it devoured what they were falsifying. 117 ۞ Thus the Truth prevailed and their false art was banished. 118 The magicians who were defeated on the spot and were proved to be worthless, 119 And the wizards fell down prostrate, 120 They said, 'We believe in the Lord of all Being, 121 the Lord of Moses and Aaron!" 122 Firon said: Do you believe in Him before I have given you permission? Surely this is a plot which you have secretly devised in this city, that you may turn out of it its people, but you shall know: 123 “I swear I will cut off your hands and your feet from alternate sides and then crucify you all.” 124 They replied: 'We shall surely return to our Lord. 125 "And you take vengeance on us only because we believed in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) of our Lord when they reached us! Our Lord! pour out on us patience, and cause us to die as Muslims." 126

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
