No, by the moon! 32 By the receding night 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 a warning to mortal man 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
