Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed is He in whose hands is the Kingdom and who has power over all things. 1 Who hath created death and life that He might prove you, as to which of you is excellent in work. And He is the Mighty, the Forgiver. 2 Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts? 3 Turn your eyes again and again. Your gaze turns back dazed and tired. 4 And indeed, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with lights, and have made them the object of futile guesses for the evil ones [from among men]: and for them have We readied suffering through a blazing flame 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves, 7 It almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast therein, its keeper will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will say," Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, 'Allah has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.'" 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 So will they confess their guilt. Deprived (of all joys) will be the inmates of Hell. 11 (As for) those who fear their Lord in secret, they shall surely have forgiveness and a great reward. 12 Whether you speak in secret or aloud, He knows what is in every heart. 13 Would He not know, He Who has created, when He is All-Subtle, All-Aware? 14
