The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
