Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
