So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
