The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created man 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
