Now surely, unto Pharaoh's folk [too] came such warnings; 41 They belied Our signs everyone thereof; whereof We laid hold of them with the grip of the Mighty, Powerful. 42 Are you disbelievers mightier than those of the nations which We destroyed before or have you received amnesty through the ancient Scriptures? 43 Or they say, “We shall all take revenge as a group.” 44 Soon shall the hosts be routed, and they shall turn (their) backs. 45 Nay, but the Hour (of doom) is their appointed tryst, and the Hour will be more wretched and more bitter (than their earthly failure). 46 The evil-doers are victims of error and madness. 47 On that Day they will be dragged into the fire faces foremost, (and told:) "Taste the feel of Hell." 48 BEHOLD, everything have We created in due measure and proportion; 49 And Our command is but one (word) swift as the winking of an eye. 50 And indeed, We have destroyed your likes, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 51 All things they do are (recorded) in the books; 52 everything large or small, is duly inscribed. 53 Surely the godfearing shall dwell amid gardens and a river 54 At the still centre in the proximity of the King all-powerful. 55
