The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Terror descends 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 on lavish couches 15 facing one another. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 And those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and spreading shade 30 And water gushing, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 and raised couches 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
