By the moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning to mankind, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir). Sent down in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
