۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 But the sincere servants of God 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 [And] he adds: "Would you like to look [and see him]?" 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 then on top of it they have a brew of boiling water, 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 Verily they found their fathers gone astray. 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
