And he who believed said, "O my people, follow me, I will guide you to the way of right conduct. 38 O my people! this life of the world is only a (passing) enjoyment, and surely the hereafter is the abode to settle; 39 "Whosoever does an evil deed, will not be requited except the like thereof, and whosoever does a righteous deed, whether male or female and is a true believer (in the Oneness of Allah), such will enter Paradise, where they will be provided therein (with all things in abundance) without limit. 40 ۞ “And O my people! What is the matter with me that I call you towards salvation whereas you call me towards hell?” 41 You call upon me to deny God and to serve other deities about which I have no knowledge, while I call you to the Almighty, the Forgiver. 42 Without doubt ye only call me unto that which is not to be invoked in the world nor in the Hereafter; and verily our return shall be unto God, and the extravagant; they shall be fellows of the Fire. 43 You will remember what I say to you. I commit my affair to God; surely God sees His servants.' 44 So Allah saved him from the evils that they plotted (against him), while an evil torment encompassed Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people. 45 The Fire; they are exposed to it, morning and afternoon, and on the Day when the Hour will be established (it will be said to the angels): "Cause Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people to enter the severest torment!" 46 And consider what time they will wrangle together in the Fire, and the oppressed will say unto those who were stiff-necked: verily we have been unto you a following, are ye going to avail us against a portion of the Fire? 47 [to which] they who had [once] been arrogant will reply, "Behold, we are all in it [together]! Verily, God has judged between His creatures!" 48 Those in the Fire will say to the Keepers of Hell: "Pray to your Lord to lighten us the Penalty for a day (at least)!" 49 but they will say, "Did not your messengers come to you with clear signs?" They will say, "Yes." The keepers will say, "Then pray [for help] yourselves." But the prayer of those who deny the truth is of no avail. 50
