Nay! By the moon 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 about the sinners. 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
