Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Even then they say: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
