Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 Yet [it has always happened] that certain kinds of humans would seek refuge with certain kinds of [such] invisible forces: but these only increased their confusion 6 And indeed they imagined, even as ye imagined, that Allah will not raise any one. 7 "'And [so it happened] that we reached out towards heaven: but we found it filled with mighty guards and flames, 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 ‘And we do not know whether harm is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends goodness for them.’ 10 ‘And among us some are virtuous and some are the other type; we are split into several branches.’ 11 "'And withal, we have come to know that we can never elude God [while we live] on earth, and that we can never elude Him by escaping [from life]. 12 When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. 13 And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. 14 ‘And as for the unjust – they are the fuel of hell.’” 15 And that if they should keep to the (right) way, We would certainly give them to drink of abundant water, 16 as a trial for them. God will make those who disregard the guidance from their Lord suffer increasing torment. 17 All the parts of the body to be placed on the ground during prostration belong to God. 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
