Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
