The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: 5 when they were seated over it 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 In the Preserved Tablet. 22
