Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you, 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 No indeed; but soon you shall know. 3 And once again: Nay, in time you will come to understand! 4 Indeed, did you know with certain knowledge 5 Surely ye shall behold the Scorch. 6 You would see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then, on that day, you will surely be questioned regarding the favours. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
