Kaf Ha Ya Ain Sad 1 Commemorate the beneficence of your Lord on Zachariah, His devotee, 2 When he quietly called his Lord 3 and said, "My Lord, my bones have become feeble and my hair has turned white with age. Yet I have never been deprived in receiving from You the answer to my prayers. 4 “And I fear my relatives after me and my wife is barren therefore bestow upon me from Yourself one who will take up my work.” 5 who will be my heir and an heir to the House of Jacob, and make him, my Lord, satisfied' 6 (He was told): "Zechariah, We bring you the good news of the birth of a son whose name shall be Yahya (John), one whose namesake We never created before." 7 He said, 'O my Lord, how shall I have a son, seeing my wife is barren, and I have attained to the declining of old age?' 8 He said: So (it will be). Thy Lord saith: It is easy for Me, even as I created thee before, when thou wast naught. 9 He said, "My Lord, grant me a sign!" He said, "Your sign will be that you will not speak to anyone for three successive days and nights, although sound in body." 10 Then Zachariah came forth from the shrine to his people and told them by signs to glorify the Lord morning and evening. 11 (We said:) "O John, hold fast to the Book;" and We gave him wisdom right from boyhood, 12 And tenderness from Our presence and purity, and he was God-fearing. 13 and full of piety towards his parents; and never was he haughty or rebellious. 14 And peace be upon him the day he was born and the day he dies and the day he is raised alive. 15
