The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In gardens of delight; 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 and banana trees, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and flowing water, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And couches raised up. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 We have made them virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 for those on the Right, 38
