The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and gently take it away; 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
