The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 I am a trustworthy Messengers. 178 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not cheat; 181 weigh with an even balance 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They replied, "You are bewitched. 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He. said: My Lord is the Best Knower of that which ye work. 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
