1/2 Hizb 45

۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 How is it that you are not helping one another? 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 But the sincere servants of God 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 (Zaqqum) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell, 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;- 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74
