The Mountain (Al-Toor)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of (mount) Tur. 1 And a Scripture inscribed 2 on parchment for distribution, 3 by the House inhabited 4 and the uplifted roof 5 and by the swelling sea: 6 Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass; 7 there is no one who could avert it, 8 On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 Woe will be to those who rejected the Truth 11 Who are playing in falsehood. 12 A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. 13 "This is the fire which you were wont to call a lie! 14 Was it, then, a delusion or is it that you failed to see [its truth]? 15 Roast in it. Bear it with patience or impatience, it will be the same for you. You will be requited for what you had done." 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 rejoicing in that their Lord has given them; and their Lord shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell. 18 "Eat and drink with relish," (they will be told), (as recompense) for what you had done." 19 (They shall be) reclining on couches ranged in rows and We shall wed them to houris (virgins of Paradise) with large wide eyes. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 They will exchange cups of wine free of (incitement to) pleasantry or sin. 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 And some of them draw near to others, questioning. 25 They say, 'We were before among our people, ever going in fear, 26 But God has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of scorching wind. 27 “Indeed we used to worship Him in our previous life; indeed He only is the Benign, the Most Merciful.” 28
