The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30
