۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherers 53 "These," they said, "are only a small band, 54 And indeed, they are enraging us, 55 and we are a host on our guard' 56 So We expelled them from gardens, springs, 57 And treasures and a fair estate. 58 Thus (were those things taken from them) and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit them. 59 The people of the Pharaoh pursued them at sunrise. 60 And when the two groups saw each other, those with Moosa said, “They have caught us.” 61 Said Moosa, “Never! Indeed my Lord is with me, He will now show me the way.” 62 Then We inspired Moses, saying: Smite the sea with thy staff. And it parted, and each part was as a mountain vast. 63 And We caused the pursuers to draw near unto that place: 64 And We saved Moosa and all those with him. 65 And We drowned the others. 66 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 67 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 68
