Who doth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie against Allah or denieth His revelations? Lo! the wrongdoers will not be successful. 21 And let them beware the Day whereon We shall gather them all together; then We shall say unto those who associated: where are your associate-gods whom ye have been asserting? 22 Then they shall have no proving, but to say, 'By God our Lord, we never associated other gods with Thee.' 23 Consider, how they have lied against their own souls and have lost their gods. 24 Some of them listen to you. But We have cast veils over their hearts lest they understand it and in their ears heaviness; and if they see every sign they do not believe in it. When they come to you they argue, the unbelievers say: 'This is nothing but the tales of the ancient ones' 25 And they prohibit (others) from it and go far away from it, and they only bring destruction upon their own souls while they do not perceive. 26 If you could but see when they shall be made to stand by the Fire! They will plead: 'Would that we were brought back to life? Then we would not give the lie to the signs of our Lord and would be among the believers.' 27 Indeed, that which they concealed will appear to them. But if they were sent back, they would return to that which they have been forbidden. They are indeed liars. 28 They say now: 'There is nothing but the life of this world, and we shall not be raised from the dead.' 29 And couldst thou see what time they shall be held before their Lord? He will say: is this not real? They will say: aye! by our Lord! He will say: taste then the torment for ye have been disbelieving. 30
