Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. 1 Guiding unto rectitude; wherefore we have believed therein, and we shall by no means associate with our Lord anyone. 2 'And exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife, nor a son (or offspring or children). 3 The fool among us spoke against God outrage, 4 ‘Whereas we thought that men and jinns would never fabricate a lie against Allah!’ 5 Yet [it has always happened] that certain kinds of humans would seek refuge with certain kinds of [such] invisible forces: but these only increased their confusion 6 and they thought, even as you also thought, that God would never raise up anyone. 7 And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. 8 And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him: 9 And so we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways. 11 And we have become certain that we will never cause failure to Allah upon earth, nor can we escape Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 Some of us have come to submission, and some of us are iniquitous.'" Those who have submitted have taken the right course; 14 but those who are wrongdoers will become the fuel of Hell." 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 Do not prostrate before anyone other than Him. When the servant of God (Muhammad) preached (his message) the jinn would all crowd around him. 19
